최창환 중앙대학교병원 소화기내과 교수가 최근 중국 광저우에서 개최된 제1차 세계 소화기기능성질환 및 운동학회 학술대회(FNM 2014, The 1st Federation of Neurogastroenterology and Motility)에서 ‘젊은 연구자상(Young Investigator Awards)’을 수상했다. 이번 학술대회는 소화기 기능성질환 및 운동질환을 다루는 미국학회(American Neurogastroenterology & Motility Society)와 유럽학회(European Society of Neurogastroenterology & Motility), 아시아학회(Asian Neurogastroenterology & Motility Association) 등 총 3개 학회가 연합해 처음으로 아시아에서 개최됐다. 최 교수는 이번 학술대회에서 ‘Altered Colonic Bacterial Fermentation is a Steadfast Pathophysiological Factor in Irritable Bowel Syndrome’이란 제목의 연구 논문을 발표해 이 상을 수상했다.
